In this role, you’ll be the key administrative support for the department chair, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Job Description

Here’s a glimpse into what you’ll do:

  • Faculty & Departmental Affairs Champion: Manage electronic documentation for all faculty and administrative actions within the department, keeping everything organized and accessible.
  • Departmental Liaison Extraordinaire: Bridge the gap between the Studio Arts department and various university offices, including the Humanities Division Business Office, Dean’s Office, Payroll, Sponsored Projects Teams, Events Team, International Services, and more.
  • Financial Whiz: Process travel reimbursements, advance settlements, and purchases using One Card and Panther Express. 
  • Contract Guru: Handle professional service contract agreements, ensuring all legalities are met.
  • Tech-Savvy Website Maintainer: Keep the Studio Arts department website up-to-date and informative. 
  • Office Management Maestro: Oversee all aspects of general office management, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Student Worker Supervisor: Provide guidance and support to student workers assigned to the department. 
  • Departmental Backup Hero: Offer support and assistance to other Dietrich School departments whenever needed.

You’re a Perfect Fit If You Have

  • An Associate’s Degree (or a combination of relevant experience and education).
  • At least 3 years of administrative support experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • A positive and service-oriented attitude.
