Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of project management plans for transit authority clients. This role involves serving as the primary liaison with clients and managing all aspects of bus and/or light rail programs, including planning, design, environmental assessments, FTA support, contracting, project controls, quality assurance, risk management, and change management.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain key client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for assigned projects. Effectively communicate with clients to understand their needs and explore alternative business solutions and strategies.

Financial Performance: Ensure projects meet financial goals through proactive management of cash flow, budgets, schedules, and project scopes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client satisfaction.

Resource Management: Set priorities, secure commitments, and engage necessary resources by collaborating with Group Directors, Department Managers, and Section Managers to staff projects according to the project work plan.

Leadership Collaboration: Work with office and division leadership to address challenges and achieve business objectives.

Team Supervision and Mentoring: Oversee and mentor project teams to meet overall project goals. Manage project staffing, including recruitment, hiring, development, retention, succession planning, and performance reviews.

Business Development: Lead pursuits of mega projects and support super mega project pursuits. Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to develop strategies for securing additional business opportunities. Prepare and deliver proposal and presentation materials for client interviews and industry presentations.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 12 years of relevant experience, including 4 years managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects.

Preferred: Master’s degree. 15 years of relevant experience. Professional Engineer (PE) certification. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Skills and Experience

• Develop overall funding strategies with clients.
• Prioritize and program projects.
• Create project scopes and budgets.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure adherence to 4for4 delivery standards.
• Develop planning and preliminary engineering documents.
• Conduct alternatives analysis and identify locally preferred alternatives.
• Coordinate FTA support with clients.
• Oversee final design and implementation phases.
