The Role: Be a Key Player in Community Health Improvement
As an RA II, you will play a vital role in the Community Health Systems Development (CHSD) team. You will provide crucial technical assistance and capacity-building support to rural communities as they work to implement health improvement initiatives. This will involve a variety of tasks, including:
- Delivering Technical Assistance: You will be the point person for assigned communities, providing virtual and on-site support through workshops, webinars, and meetings.
- Developing Resources: Help create new training materials and tools to empower communities in their health improvement efforts.
- Assessing Community Needs: Work with communities to understand their unique challenges and tailor support accordingly.
- Measuring Success: Track the impact of grant funding and develop strategies for ongoing improvement.
- Project Management: Manage projects of varying sizes, ensuring they stay on track and achieve their goals.
- Research and Reporting: Prepare research papers, reports, and presentations to communicate findings effectively.
- Building Relationships: Forge strong connections with community representatives, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Staying Current: Continually update your knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in rural health.
Are you a perfect fit?
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (public health, policy, social sciences) and one year of experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and policy landscape.
- Prior experience providing technical assistance and conducting research (both qualitative and quantitative) is a plus.
- Excellent written and communication skills to clearly convey complex information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- A passion for rural health and a desire to make a positive impact.
