Mr. Raji Ayoola and Mrs. Esther Nnenna Adeleke gave birth to Adedeji Tajudeen Adeleke on March 6, 1957 in Enugu State. Adedeji Adeleke grew up in Enugu State with his maternal grandmother, but when he was old enough, he had to relocate to Lagos to begin his primary school education. He attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School from 1965 to 1970, and after graduating in 1970, he continued his education at the Seventh-Day Adventist Grammar School in Osun State.

In 1975, he received his West African School Certificate (WASC), and in 1976, he was accepted into Western Kentucky University in Kentucky, USA. While working at the Federal Ministry of Education for a short time, he was able to obtain international entry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in 1979 and then enrolled in an MBA program in 1979, which he completed in 1981. He then went on to earn a Ph.D. in International Business from Pacific Columbia University in California.
