With mind-blowing T.V.s and unheard-of smartphones, they’ve been at the vanguard of technical advancement and invention for decades. We’re going to look at 30 facts about Samsung, the electronics juggernaut.

Samsung began selling noodles and other produce, but it wasn’t until 1970 that it produced its first electrical product, a 12-inch black-and-white television.
Samsung mainly focuses on producing as much of its equipment in-house as possible; approximately 90% of Samsung equipment is manufactured in Samsung plants.
In 2016, Six Flags and Samsung partnered to construct North America’s first Virtual Reality Rollercoasters, which featured Samsung V.R.V.R.V.R.V.R. technology. Following this, the two have begun new cooperation to develop a virtual reality game for rollercoaster riders.
Samsung is genuinely a global employer, with over 236,000 employees in 79 countries.
Samsung has always been on the cutting edge of technology. In 1998, they invented the digital television, in 1999, the Watch phone and the MP3 phone, in 2010, the 3D home theater, and in 2013, the world’s first curved smartphone display.
In 2016,
Samsung exported 306 million devices worldwide, up from 283.1 million units in 2010. Following the launch of the Samsung S3, sales peaked at 500 units per minute.
Samsung is experimenting with A.I.A.I.A.I.A.I. technology for mobile devices to compete with Cortana and Siri. However, the S8 was the first device to use Samsung’s flagship Bixby technology. Since 1993, Samsung’s H.R.H.R.H.R.H.R. Development Center has provided over 64 courses to 53,400 workers.
Samsung’s Shipbuilding division, with a total area of 400 million square feet (37.16 square kilometers), produces more than 30 large ships every year.
In Korean, Samsung means “three stars,” and its founder, Lee Byung-Chull, chose the name to reflect his goal for a firm that would remain as long as the stars.
The current Samsung logo was designed in 1993; before that, two older logos were created in 1969 and 1980.

Sam-+sung’s chairman, Lee Kun Hee, had his employees build a pile of 150,000 phone and fax machines before destroying them in front of an audience of 2000 people to demonstrate the new era of quality-driven products.
Samsung owes a great deal to South Korea’s Air Force. The KF-16, the company’s first fighter plane, was developed by the electronics behemoth.
Samsung was granted authorization to conduct self-driving car trials in South Korea in May 2017.
Samsung spent $10.8 billion on R&D in 2012, accounting for about 6% of its revenue and employing around 14% of its workforce, or 60,000 people.
In 2017, Samsung was defeated in a patent lawsuit by Huawei, which claimed that over 20 devices incorporated technologies for which Samsung had not granted permission.
Huawei is the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, behind Samsung and Apple.
Samsung recalled 2.5 million Note 7s in August 2016 due to battery issues. With 7670 U.S. patents, Samsung has more than any other corporation in the world.
Thirty-four electric car charging outlets have been installed in Samsung’s Silicon Valley U.S. headquarters to encourage employees to use electric vehicles and to assist commuters.
Samsung has a facility in New York called 837, which is known as a digital playground and is dedicated to showcasing Samsung technology, from a massive theater display made up of ninety-six 55″ screens to a V.R.V.R.V.R.V.R. Tunnel and a family-focused Playroom employing Galaxy View.
Samsung has almost 460 percent more employees than Apple in 2013, with Samsung employing over 370,000 people compared to Apple’s 80,000.
Samsung is committed to sustainability, and in 2015, they partnered with the United Nations to ensure that 17 Sustainable Development Goals are realized between 2016 and 2030, including gender equality, hunger alleviation through sustainable agriculture, and climate change mitigation.
In 2014, a guy killed his Thai girlfriend with a Samsung Tablet in their house after prohibiting her from using Facebook.
Since 2013, all Samsung products have received global environmental certifications.
The corporation spent $4.8 billion between 2009 and 2013 to reduce 85 million tonnes of carbon gases.
Samsung was founded in 1938, making it precisely 38 years before Apple.

Samsung’s commercial empire encompasses a wide range of industries, not only technology. For example, the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, was built by the country’s construction sector.
According to the B.B.C. Samsung’s C.E.O. Lee Jae-Yong, was questioned in January 2017 as part of South Korea’s worst political corruption scandal over allegations of improper donations.
In February 2017, Samsung achieved another world first as their QLED TV became the first television to achieve 100 percent color volume, resulting in a more accurate and defined image.
Samsung has come a long way from its humble origins in 1938 to today’s global powerhouse.
If I ask someone to name an electrical or mobile brand today, I’m willing to wager that more than half of them will say Samsung.
This demonstrates how well-known the brand is worldwide and how much it is ingrained in our daily lives.
Whatever happens, I’m confident that Samsung will continue to lead the way to innovation and new technology.
